Meet Your Instructors

Mark Bodenschatz, PE, ProFM, CSSP Interim Director, Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute

Mark Bodenschatz, PE, ProFM, CSSP is the interim director of the Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI). He offers more than 30 years of experience in various aspects of facilities management including more than 10 years with Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics and more than 16 years with Office of Physical Plant. Specific areas of expertise within the ProFM arena include Asset Management, Business Management, and Risk Management. Bodenschatz earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Environmental Systems Option and a Master of Engineering in Architectural Engineering, both from Penn State. He is a licensed mechanical engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, holds a ProFM credential, and is a certified sports security professional.

William Lash, P.E., MBA, LEED-AP, PMP Education Program Manager, Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute

William Lash, P.E., MBA, LEED-AP, PMP is the Education Program Manager for the Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (PSFEI). With more than 20 years of practical experience in project management, federal contracting, facilities management, and engineering design, Lash currently oversees all aspects of PSFEI’s Education Services. Prior to joining PSFEI, he was the North American Project Manager for AEG Power Solutions, a Principle Engineer for Jacobs Technology, and the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Program Manager for the Pittsburgh District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Lash retired at the rank of Major from the United States Army, in which he served as both an Engineer and an Acquisition Officer.
